Outer Cape police get drug K-9

tr123015aTRURO – The Outer Cape Police Departments have a drug detecting K-9 dog as of Wednesday. Truro Officer Steven Raneo and his K-9 partner Ella completed 400 hours of specialized training at the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Dept. K9 Academy Basic Narcotics Detection Academy on Tuesday. Ella, a 2-year-old yellow lab, began her watch on Wednesday. The K-9 service will be available to all departments on the outer Cape. In the near future, Ella will also be trained to track people such as fleeing suspects and missing persons as well.
