Parking bans announced as new blizzard threatens the Cape; some still without power from last storm

CAPE COD – A Blizzard Warning and a Coastal Flood Warning have been posted for Cape Cod for Monday. This comes as 73 Eversource customers scattered across the Cape still remain without power from the last storm as of 3 p.m. That number was down to 11 at 1 a.m. Monday.

Local agencies are prepping for the storm. Dennis Police have advised that a parking ban will begin at 11PM tonight, February 7th and last through 8AM Wednesday February 10th.  This will allow DPW to properly clear the roadways.  Vehicles parked on roadways may be towed at the owner’s expense.

Provincetown Police say their parking ban will start at 2 a.m. Monday and run through at least 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Yarmouth, Wellfleet and Eastham and Chatham Town Offices will be closed on Monday.

Other departments will undoubtedly follow suit and we’ll update this story accordingly.

Cape Wide News will have full coverage during the storm.
