Pedestrian killed hit and run crash in Onset

ONSET – Wareham Police report that at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Monday evening, officers along with Onset Fire Department and Wareham EMS personnel responded to the area of 3029 Cranberry Highway (Routes 6/28) for the report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers located a 54-year-old male in the roadway with apparent serious injuries as a result of being struck by a vehicle that reportedly left the scene of the incident. Witness statements regarding the incident and the involved vehicle are being compiled at this time. Officials are reportedly looking for a white Ford pickup truck with front end damage. Wareham EMS personnel transported the injured male to Tobey Hospital in Wareham where he was pronounced dead. The victim was later identified as Ernest Raddatz of Wareham.
