New details: Driver cited after teen pedestrian struck and seriously injured in Falmouth

FALMOUTHFrom Falmouth Police: A Falmouth teen was injured Monday afternoon when she was struck by a car while crossing the street.

Police and fire personnel responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Main St. and Shore St. at 4:42 pm.

The teen suffered from a possible fractured pelvis and was treated by Falmouth Fire & Rescue medics. She was then taken by ambulance to Falmouth Hospital and later transferred to Children’s Hospital in Boston.

The driver of the car, a 67-year-old East Falmouth woman, remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigators.

An investigation revealed that the teen was in the crosswalk at the time of the crash.

A citation was issued to the driver for a crosswalk violation as a result of the crash.
