MASHPEE – UPDATE: The Mashpee Police Department reported on Wednesday morning that the 13-year-old boy struck by a vehicle on Tuesday evening has died from injuries sustained in the accident. He was identified as Jeremiah Smith of Mashpee (pictured). The car driver was identified as Constantinos Mitrokostas, 55, also of Mashpee. The crash remains under investigation.
PREVIOUS: A male pedestrian was struck and critically injured in Mashpee around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. The incident happened at the intersection of Quinaquisset Avenue and Orchard Road. The victim was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital. The vehicle driver stayed at the scene. The crash is under investigation by Mashpee Police assisted by the Barnstable Police crash reconstruction unit.
