BREWSTER – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured in Brewster sometime after 4:30 PM. The crash happened on Main Street (Route 6A) near the Brewster Ladies Library. Rescuers called for a MedFlight helicopter to meet the ambulance at Barnstable Municipal Airport. Brewster Police requested crash reconstruction to the scene for investigation. A Nissan Altima was stopped in the road with a gaping hole in its smashed windshield and a dented hood. The victim’s sneakers and groceries were still in the roadway. Route 6A was expected to be closed between Route 137 and Lower Road for an extended time.
