COTUIT– A pedestrian who was struck Tuesday night near the Cotuit/Mashpee line has died from her injuries.
A statement from Mashpee Police Chief Scott Carline said Michele Poirier, 59, of Mashpee, passed away at Cape Cod Hospital.
She was hit by a vehicle on Falmouth Road (Route 28) by Bosun’s Marine at the Mashpee town line. MedFlight was not available the to weather so the victim was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital.
The driver of the Ford Crown Victoria stayed at the scene. A second person believed to be that driver was also evaluated.
The accident remains under investigation by the Mashpee Police Department and the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team.
