Person reportedly burned by hoverboard in Mashpee

MASHPEE – A person suffered burns to their extremities in Mashpee sometime before 9:30 PM Saturday evening. According to reports, the burns were suffered when a hoverboard caught fire. Rescuers responded to an Algonquin Avenue location and transported the victim to Falmouth Hospital for treatment.

There has been an extensive history of hoverboard batteries overheating and catching fire. This latest incident is under investigation. Further details were not immediately available.
