PLYMOUTH – Mass State Police report that Saturday at 2:33 p.m. the Troop D Headquarters Communications Section received a 911 call reporting a small, fixed-wing plane had just crashed at the Plymouth Airport. State Police Air Wing was the first to arrive, who found the small plane on its roof.
The pilot was the only occupant of the plane and suffered serious injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening at the time he was transported. The pilot was transported by medical helicopter to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Bourne along with troopers from the State Police Troop D Headquarters, State Police Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS), State Police Air Wing, Plymouth Police, Fire and EMS, Carver Police all assisted on scene.
State Police will assist with the emergency response and any evidence documentation, as the Federal Aviation Administration and Mass Aeronautics conduct their investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
