Video: Plumber’s work van rolls over in West Dennis

top shotfeatured imageWEST DENNIS – Dennis Fire and Police personnel responded to a second single-vehicle rollover crash in Dennis on Monday evening. The first was on the north side on Scargo Hill Road (see related story here). The second occurred around 9:55 p.m. when a Hall Plumbing & Heating work van rolled over in front of 188 Lower County Road just west of the Swan River Bridge.

A young man, apparently the driver, was extricated from the vehicle with severe trauma to his left hand. Dennis Fire Department medics called for a MedFlight helicopter to transport the victim to an off-Cape trauma center. The closest helicopter was in New Hampshire so the victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital instead. It is not known whether the victim was eventually transported off-Cape.

A young woman was apparently a passenger in the van. She appeared to be uninjured but was examined by Dennis firefighters and transported to Cape Cod Hospital as well.

Lower County Road was closed to traffic until the scene could be cleared around 10:55 p.m.

The Dennis Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
