PROVINCETOWN – Provincetown Police and members of the National Park Service were involved in another breakwater rescue Wednesday in town.

Reports from the scene indicated that an unidentified person suffered facial injuries after falling about 2/3 of the way out on the breakwater.

The water was too shallow for a boat rescue so EMTs were preparing to make the long trek by NPS 4X4 around the point to the scene when word came in the victim had apparently walked back to the traffic circle near the Provincetown Inn where an ambulance responded to transport them to Cape Cod Hospital.

There was no immediate word on the person’s condition.

There have been several breakwater rescues and injuries so far this summer.
