Provincetown Police recruiting for new officers

PROVINCETOWN – Provincetown Police are recruiting for new police officer positions.

This is first time since 2014 the department is testing for entry level, non-certified officer candidates.

The department is hoping to hire approximately 2-3 new officers from this exam list. The new hires will fill positions open due to retirements and promotions.

The examination is scheduled for Saturday May 06, 2017 at the Provincetown Veterans Community Center in Provincetown.

In order to take the examination, the candidates must:

a. Not be a convicted felon;

b. Be at least 21 years of age at the time of examination;

c. Possess 60 college credits of an approved field of study, or two or more years of service in the active military with an honorable discharge,

d. Have the ability to obtain a Massachusetts driver’s license

e. Have the ability to obtain a Massachusetts License to Carry a Firearm

The passing grade of the examination will be 70.

Cost of the exam is $80.00 payable to the exam vendor.
