PROVINCETOWN – On Tuesday, 10 community members graduated from the Provincetown Police Department Community Oriented Policing Citizens Police Academy. For the past 8 weeks these dedicated residents have attended class for 2-3 hours once a week, to learn from each other and to gain a better understanding of their police departments operations.
The program focuses on all aspects of police operations including patrol procedures, the court system, investigations and crime scene, evidence handling, community policing, law and procedures and the communications division. They also participated in a mock crime scene module, simulated impaired driving arrest and a cruiser ride a-long with members of our team.
Provincetown Police would like to congratulate all of the students who participated in this academy and graduated yesterday.
