Recent arrest activity in Wareham

David Hill

WAREHAMFrom Wareham Police: On Friday January 18, at 5:00 p.m., Officer Christopher Corner arrested David Hill, 22, of Wareham, for a default warrant. Officer Corner observed Mr. Hill as being the passenger in a car on Great Neck Road and was aware of an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Officer Corner pursued the car and it abruptly turned onto Corey Drive before stopping. Officer Corner was then able to make the arrest and place Mr. Hill into custody.

Later at about, 6:30 p.m., Officers Nate Aronson and Jennifer Braley responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on County Road. During the course of the investigation a male went into one of the cars involved in the accident and began removing beer cans. Officer Braley and Deputy Sheriff Alex Johnson advised the male to stop disturbing evidence and step out of the car. Instead the male refused, became belligerent and began causing a disturbance. Gregory Juneau, 54, of West Wareham was placed under arrest after a brief struggle for interfering with a police officer and disorderly conduct. Another male, Jacob Juneau, 19, is being summoned to court for negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding. Two people were transported to Tobey Hospital for treatment of minor injuries as a result of the accident.

On Saturday, at 9:15 a.m. Wareham Police were advised to be on the lookout for a vehicle involved in a shoplifting incident at the CVS in Bourne. A short while later Officer Christopher Smith observed the vehicle on Cranberry Highway, near Main Avenue. Officer Smith activated his lights and attempted to pull the vehicle over, however it quickly pulled into Garden Homes East. At that time the car stopped and the female driver jumped out, yelled something at the officer, while the passenger moved into the driver’s seat. The female who had jumped out of the car tried to tell the officer she was not driving, however Officer Smith had seen her operating the car and determined that she had a suspended driver’s license. Amanda Felix, 33, of East Wareham was placed under arrest for operating after suspension. A male in the back seat of the car, Johnny Cortez, 48, Cambridge was also placed in custody after it was determined that he had an active warrant. Officer Zina Kelsch assisted with the arrests. A Bourne Police officer arrived on scene to obtain information for possible charges to be filed in their town, and the stolen merchandise was recovered in the vehicle. Both Felix and Cortez were transported to Wareham police headquarters for processing.
