Recent arrests in Wareham

WAREHAMFrom Wareham Police: The following are arrests made within the last several days by members of the Wareham Police Department. Other arrests were made but not published because of privacy laws forbidding public disclosure.

Raymond Silvia III

Tuesday, June 25 – Raymond Sylvia III, 28, of Wareham, arrested by Officers James White and Christopher Corner at his residence on an active warrant. The arrest was made at about 11:45 p.m.

Wilfred Bergeron III

Thursday, June 27 – At 11:00 a.m., Wilfred Bergeron III, 46, of Wareham, was arrested by Officer Aaron Pacheco on Glen Charlie Road. Officer Pacheco observed Bergeron in a car while working on an off-duty detail and was aware of an active warrant for his arrest. Officer Pacheco stopped the car and placed him in custody.

Barry Pires

At about 5:15 p.m. Officers Matthew Donovan and George Dionne arrested Barry Pires, 61, of Wareham at Tobey Hospital following a disturbance. He is charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

Friday, June 28 – A male was arrested at about 9:00 a.m. on Cedar Street. The male was placed in custody by Officers Dionne and John Iacobucci following a foot pursuit after initially fleeing from the officers on High Street when they attempted to arrest him on a warrant of apprehension.

Saturday, June 29- At about 12:15 a.m. police responded to a disturbance on Parker Drive. At the location Officers Kyle Gomes and Robert McLain arrested two individuals. Daniel Lake, 40, of Wareham, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Ryson Joseph, 31, of Wareham, was taken into custody on an active warrant.

At 1:04 a.m. Officers Ryan Turner and Stephen Harrison responded to a motor vehicle accident on Crooked River Road. As the result of an on-scene investigation, James Luppino Jr., 27, of Wareham, is being summoned to Wareham District Court for the offense of operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, and speeding.

Lawrence Medeiros III

Also on Saturday, Lawrence Medeiros III, 42, of Wareham, was arrested by Officers Corner and Pacheco at 8:35 p.m., at his residence on an active warrant.

Richard Rodriguez

At 11:15 p.m., Richard Rodriguez, 42, of Wareham, was arrested by Officers Corner and Pacheco at his residence on an active warrant.

James Pires

On Sunday at 10:15 p.m. Wareham Police responded to Doherty Street for a hit and run motor vehicle accident. At the scene Officers Donovan and Lorenzo Grosso observed that a vehicle had been struck by a black Jeep which fled the scene. Within a few minutes the Jeep and suspected operator were located on Old Onset Road. During a search of the vehicle a small baggie of suspected cocaine was found on the driver’s side floor. After a brief investigation James Pires, 29, of Wareham, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor 2nd offense, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, possession of Class “B” substance, marked lanes violation, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Monday, July 1 – At 5:48 a.m. Wareham Police responded to an address on Cranberry Highway in West Wareham for suspicious activity. At the location Officer Kyle Gomes discovered two females in the process of taking scrap metal. It was determined that the two women did not have permission to take the property and are going to be summoned to court. Samantha Bergeron, 25, and Julie Ann Bergeron, 44, both of Wareham are being charged with larceny under $1,200.00.

Rita Desmond

At about 1:00 p.m. police responded to Walmart for a shoplifter. At the scene Officers Blaise Lalli and Calib Larue arrested Rita Desmond, 55, of Wareham. Ms. Desmond is being charged with shoplifting.
