Sandwich man charged with attempted robbery of Chick-Fil-A

HYANNISFrom Barnstable Police: At approximately 9:40 PM Thursday, Barnstable Police were notified of an attempted armed robbery with a knife at the Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Hyannis. The caller gave police a physical description of a white male subject in his twenties who had approached the drive-up on foot with a grey sweatshirt wrapped around his head. Witnesses stated the male was holding a knife and demanded money. Employees refused to give the suspect money and he then fled on foot on Route 132.

Responding officers located a male who matched the description walking north on Route 132. He was identified as 20-year-old Cole Reissner of Sandwich and he was in possession of a folding knife and grey sweater inside his backpack. Reissner was identified by witnesses as a former employee of the restaurant. He was placed under arrest and charged with Attempting to Commit a Crime to wit Armed Robbery while Masked.

Reissner was held at the Barnstable Police Station on $2500 cash bail and then transported to Barnstable District Court on 11/16/18 for arraignment.
