Sandwich Police announce Citizens Police Academy

SANDWICH – Chief Wack and the members of the Sandwich Police Department invite you to join them for the fifteenth session of the Sandwich Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy.

The academy will run for 13 weeks beginning March 15, 2018 and will meet Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM-9:30 PM.

The academy is open to any interested resident, town employee, or business owner of the Town of Sandwich who is 18 years of age or older.

Applications are now available 24 hours a day at the dispatch window of the Sandwich Police Department. They will also be available online at sandwichpd.com in the near future.

Application deadline is February 26, 2018. Class size is limited, so don’t delay!

The curriculum will include a station tour, cruiser ride alongs, Criminal/Constitutional Law, Patrol Procedures, Sandwich Police Specialized Units, K-9 Demonstration, Defensive Tactics/Officer Survival, Use of Force, Major Crime Investigations, Firearms (including range segment), Field Trips to Court and County Jail… and MUCH MORE!
