Sandwich Police announce promotions

SANDWICH – Sandwich Police report that on Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the second floor auditorium of the Sandwich Town Hall, they will hold a promotion ceremony for the ranks of Detective, Sergeant and Lieutenant.

Officer Michael Gumbleton will be pinned as a Detective. DET. Gumbleton is an 11 year member of the Sandwich Police Department and a US Navy veteran. He has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, firearms instructor and regional SWAT team member.

Officer Adam Trayner will be promoted to Interim Sergeant. SGT. Trayner is a 4 year member of the Sandwich Police Department. Prior to joining the Sandwich Police Department, he served for 6 years as a Waterville Valley, NH police officer and owned a local heating and cooling business. He has been assigned as a patrol officer and field training officer.

Sergeant Keene is being promoted to Interim Lieutenant. LT. Keene is a 21 year member of the SPD and a US Army veteran where he served as a military police officer. In 1991 he was deployed to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Storm. LT. Keene has served the police department as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Patrol Supervisor, Field Training coordinator, Taser Instructor, Firearms Instructor, founding member of the Department’s Honor Guard and Administrative Sergeant.

Sandwich Town Clerk Taylor White will swear in each position and a formal badge pinning will be included.

During this ceremony Sandwich Police will recognize LT. David Guillemette for his 28 years of service with the Sandwich Police Department. He will be leaving the department to join the Harwich Police Department as their new Chief.

Sandwich Police will also be recognizing DET. Robert Brun who will be retiring after 21 years of service with the Sandwich Police Department.
