Updated: Surveillance photo released of suspect in armed robbery of Sandwich liquor store

SANDWICH – Sandwich Police are investigating a reported armed robbery shortly before 10 PM Saturday evening. Police were called to the Sandwich Mart & Spirits on Route 6A. A masked suspect reportedly held up the business before fleeing.

Update: Sandwich Police tell Cape Wide News they are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Sandwich Mart and Spirits on Saturday Night.

Sandwich Police responded to 152 Route 6A, the Sandwich Mart and Spirits at 9:45 PM on Saturday, December 26 for the report of an armed robbery where a firearm was shown. Police are looking to identify a male party, possibly in his 40’s, with dark brown/black hair, thick build, and approximately 5’07”. The suspect ordered the cashier to empty the register while pointing a firearm at him. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. A K9 from Barnstable County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene, however a track was unsuccessful.

During the course of the investigation it has been determined the firearm was a replica. The Sandwich Police Department is continuing the investigation today. Anyone with information should contact Officer Michael Wood, 508-888-1212.

On Monday, Sandwich Police said they are looking for assistance in identifying the suspect (pictured) in the armed robbery that occurred at Sandwich Mart and Spirits on Saturday December 26 at approximately 9:45 PM.
