Several “Stop the Bleed” training classes offered

Several “Stop the Bleeding classes have been slated. The classes teach how to rapidly control bleeding in case of a shark attack.

From Wellfleet Fire: The Wellfleet Fire Department will be holding our first Stop the Bleed class on October 19th at 5pm. You will learn to recognize and control life threatening bleeding using direct pressure, tourniquets and hemostatic bandages. The first class will be limited to 16 participants but additional classes will be held starting in November. No prior first aid training is needed. All interested individuals please contact the fire department and learn how to save a life.

From the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy: Orleans Fire-Rescue will hold three Stop the Bleed classes. They will be held on October 18th, November 1st, and November 8th. All run from 7 PM to 8 PM and will be held at the Shark Center at 250 Orleans Road (Route 28) in North Chatham.
