YARMOUTH – Barnstable County Sheriff Jim Cummings hosted his annual Sheriff’s Senior Appreciation Picnic Wednesday at Bass River Beach in South Yarmouth.
The event has been going on for 18 years as part of the department’s TRIAD program.
Yarmouth Police Chief Frank Frederickson co-hosted this year’s event.
The goal of the picnic is to have an afternoon of fun, while connecting with local law enforcement.
It included patriotic songs, a K9 unit demonstration, and a few games of bingo.
Officials also took the opportunity to talk to seniors about protecting themselves from scammers.
