Sheriff’s office hosting event to Support our Troops

FALMOUTHFrom the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office: Sheriff James Cummings and Special Sheriff Jeff Perry are hosting a fundraiser in support of Cape Cod Cares for the Troops from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm on Thursday, October 24th at the Flying Bridge Restaurant in Falmouth. Donations in any amount are appreciated. There will be appetizers, a cash bar and a room full of people who support our brave men and women serving in our Armed Forces.

One of the primary ways that Cape Cod Cares for the Troops provides support is mailing care packages to service members. While most of the items in the packages are donated, the cost of postage must be paid by Cape Cod Cares for the Troops. An average care package costs about $18.00 in postage.

100% of the funds raised on October 24th will go directly towards the care package program. Over the years, tens of thousands of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen serving overseas have received a package from home because of the generosity of the people of Cape Cod and this 100% volunteer based organization.
