Spilled diesel spill leads to truck crash in Wareham

WAREHAM
From Wareham Fire: Friday afternoon, Group 1 responded to a report of a slick on the roadway by the intersection or Cranberry Highway & Tihonet Road. Upon arrival, E1 (duty crew) began to investigate Tihonet Road where they then watched a 10-wheeler truck slide down towards them, strike a telephone pole & then continue off the road.

E1 reported no injuries to the operator of the truck but requested Eversource to assess the pole damages, DEP to assess the slick substance, Municipal Maintenance sander to address the slippery roads, Wareham Police for the MVA and traffic control and finally to contact Onset Fire & Plymouth Fire and have them check their roads for the substance as well.

There were other areas in other towns that had diesel on the roadways. Fortunately, the vehicle that created this “mess” was located & the roadways that were affected were treated & addressed. The vehicle was removed by Big Wheels Towing & the roadway is now back open. As a reminder, please be sure to always drive carefully!!!
