State Police Association of Massachusetts makes holiday season donation to Yarmouth Food Pantry

YARMOUTH – Wednesday morning, the State Police Association of Massachusetts (SPAM) made a $1,000 donation to the Yarmouth Food Pantry in anticipation of needs in the Mid-Cape community during the holiday season.  Trooper Jeffrey McCarthy (SP South Yarmouth SPAM barracks representative) was joined by Troopers Beth Garfield and Michael Commane, as well as State Representative Tim Whelan (a former member of SPAM) to make this presentation to Susan Martin and her staff.

“I am grateful that SPAM President Corey Mackey, the union’s executive board, and their membership have made efforts to help address food security in communities across the Commonwealth a priority, including here in the Mid-Cape region”, Rep. Whelan stated. “This added support for local families served by the Yarmouth Food Pantry comes at a particularly busy time and is deeply appreciated by the army of good people working there”.

Located at #845 Route 28 in South Yarmouth, the Yarmouth Food Pantry serves hundreds of families and is always in need of support from our community.  More information can be found at their website:  yarmouthfoodpantry.org

The State Police Association of Massachusetts represents close to 2,000 Troopers and Sergeants of the Massachusetts State Police, including those serving here on Cape Cod.  This holiday season SPAM has made cash donations to support food pantries as well as distributing turkeys to families in need across the Commonwealth.
