State Police Gang Unit arrests 3 after Plymouth raid; Charges include gun, methamphetamine offenses

PLYMOUTH – Members of the State Police Gang Unit and Plymouth Police detectives executed three simultaneous search warrants at the Blue Spruce Motel in Plymouth early Friday morning and arrested two men on gun and drug charges.

Troopers and officers also located and arrested a woman who is a fugitive from Tennessee on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine.

The fugitive, Melissa Hinson, 28, of Humboldt, Tennessee, was located in a parked vehicle outside one of the motel’s rooms as troopers approached.

She was identified and arrested, and will face rendition to Tennessee. Hinson is believed to have been staying in a motel room with Jeffrey Shone Haddock, 42, of Hohenwald, Tennessee.

Haddock was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

A man in an adjoining room, Charles Bradley Barr, 52, of Chocowinity, North Carolina, was arrested and also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and was additionally charged with unlawful possession of oxycodone pills.

During execution of the warrants, troopers and officers recovered a loaded Ruger .380 semi-automatic handgun with five rounds in the magazine, a total of approximately 18.4 grams of methamphetamine, five oxycodone pills, drug packaging materials, and scales.

More ammunition was located and seized from one of the defendant’s trucks. Also seized was approximately $500 in suspected profits from narcotics sales.

All three suspects were booked at the Plymouth Police Department. Barr and Haddock were then transported to the State Police Norwell Barracks and were expected to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court this morning. Hinson was transported to court by Plymouth officers.
