Updated: State Police respond to fatal Wareham crash; second on Rt. 495 in less than 2 hours

WAREHAM – State Police were investigating an early morning fatal crash on Route 495 northbound in Wareham on Sunday.

Cruisers from the Bourne and Middleboro barracks responded to reports of debris in the road at 1:26 a.m. and discovered an SUV that had gone off the roads and into the woods.

State Police said the one person in the vehicle died in the crash. The cause is under investigation.

UPDATE: The victim of the crash has been identified as Liana Bellefeuille, 25, of Middleborough. Ms. Bellefeuille was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer at the time of the crash.

Only the breakdown lane on the northbound side of the highway was open during the overnight hours.

It was the second fatal crash State Police responded to on Route 495 in less than two hours.

Another person was killed just before midnight on 495 north in Norton when a pickup truck went out of control and rolled over just north of exit 10.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Keith R. Blanchard, 52, of Franklin.
