PROVINCETOWN – A stove being used to cook Thanksgiving dinner caught fire in Provincetown Thursday afternoon. Firefighters rushed to the large two and one half story Cabot’s Candy building on the corner of Ryder and Commercial Streets shortly before 3 PM. Smoke wafted through the window of the top floor penthouse. Everyone made it out safely. Firefighters ventilated the smoke from the structure. The fire was reportedly so hot it melted the knobs on the stove requiring crews to shut off the gas behind the stove. Unfortunately it appears the dinner was a total loss.
