Sullivan sworn in as Dennis Deputy Police Chief

sullivanjimSOUTH DENNIS – Dennis Police Chief Peter DiMatteo announced that James Sullivan was sworn in Tuesday morning as the Department’s Deputy Police Chief.

Sullivan’s 28-year career at the Dennis Police Department has included service as a summer officer, police dispatcher, patrol officer, field-training officer, detective, traffic safety officer, patrol sergeant, traffic supervisor, acting patrol commander and detective sergeant. He holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice and has attended management and leadership training at Roger Williams University and the Municipal Police Institute. He has numerous awards including the Exceptional Investigative award, two Excellent Police Duty awards and a Life Saving award.

The official “Badge Pinning” ceremony will be held at the Dennis Board of Selectmen’s Meeting on Tuesday, June 30, at Town Hall, 485 Main Street South Dennis at 6 p.m. Two other promotions will take place on June 30; John Brady will be promoted to lieutenant and Joseph Morris will be promoted to sergeant.
