Jocelyn Goyette

COTUIT – From Barnstable Police: “The Barnstable Police Department regretfully reports the passing of 24-year-old Jocelyn Goyette of New Bedford. Goyette was an occupant of a vehicle involved in a head-on collision in Cotuit on 7/28/18, which claimed the lives of 22-year-old Mickey Rivera of Fall River, and 32-year-old Kevin Quinn of Mashpee. Goyette died at Boston Medical Center where she was transported on Saturday in serious critical condition. The Barnstable Police Department extends its sincere condolences to the Goyette family.”

Meanwhile, Mashpee Police Chief Scott Carline issued an updated statement Wednesday: “The internal investigation into the facts and circumstances leading up to the tragic motor vehicle crash on July 28, 2018 is ongoing at this time. It would be inappropriate for me to comment on an active internal investigation until all the facts have been gathered regarding this incident. The focus of the internal investigation if the actions of the police officers involved in the pursuit are consistent with the Mashpee Police Department’s policy regarding police pursuits.” The chief attached an 11 page printout of the department’s pursuit considerations and guidelines which you can view here.
