HARWICH – Just before 1:30 p.m. Thursday Harwich Fire Rescue as well as Dennis Fire along with the Massachusetts State Police were dispatched to a reported five-car crash on Route 6 eastbound in area of Mile Marker 80. The first units on the scene found a three-car chain reaction rear-end collision with the involved vehicles mostly off the travel portion of the highway. Initial evaluation determined there to be minor or no injuries to the parties involved and Harwich Fire personnel completed medical evaluations, obtained patient refusals and made the vehicles safe. Eastbound traffic was slowed for a short period of time while State Troopers investigated and the vehicles were removed from the scene.
