BREWSTER
– On Sunday May 8 at 1:14 p.m. the Brewster Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Millstone Road and Long Pond Road. On arrival Car 231 (Chief Moran) reported a two-car collision with heavy front-end damage and air bag deployment. The four occupants of both vehicles had self-extricated prior to his arrival. Ambulance 243 and Heavy Rescue 241 arrived on scene and immediately initiated patient assessment protocols while at the same time securing the vehicles electrical systems and applying absorbents to a minor fluid leak.

Based on the assessment of the injuries three patients were found to require transport to Cape Cod Hospital. Due to ongoing multiple calls and Brewster units being tied up at the Brewster-in-Bloom parade, the Harwich Fire Department was requested to the scene with an ambulance to assist with patient transport. Heavy Rescue 241 remained at the scene with Car 231 until the vehicles were removed by the tow service. All units cleared at approximately 2:00 p.m.
