Tisbury Police investigate serious injury OUI crash, make drug bust at separate traffic stop

TISBURYFrom Tisbury Police: On Thursday at approximately 4:30 PM, Officers from this department, Tisbury Fire/EMS, as well as several other emergency medical providers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Edgartown Road. A 16 year old juvenile was seriously injured and brought to the hospital. One of the operators was arrested for OUI serious bodily injury. Matter is still under investigation by TPD.

Then at approximately 2145 hours (9:45pm) Lucas Pinheiro, 21, of Vineyard Haven was stopped for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Pinheiro was arrested and his car was towed. During a vehicle inventory it was discovered that Pinheiro was in possession of 4.5 oz of Marijuana and a couple prescription pills thought to be adderall. Due to the size of the seizure Pinheiro was charged with possession with intent to distribute. This lead to over $500 being seized. Pinheiro was charged with: Operating after suspension, No registration in possession, Possession Class D with intent to distribute, and Possession Class E.

Officers Silvia and Duquette responded to both incidents and did a great job on each.
