BOURNE – A toddler was seriously injured after reportedly falling off his bike onto the rocks along the Cape Cod Canal trail on the mainland side of the Canal west of the Bourne Bridge sometime after 11:30 AM Tuesday. The 5-year-old victim was taken to the Mass State Police barracks to meet a MedFlight helicopter for transport to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence. The boy was wearing a helmet and the injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening. The bike reportedly ended up in the water. The incident is under investigation.
