BREWSTER – An 18-wheeler reportedly struck a utility pole in Brewster bringing live wires down. The crash happened at Pine View Drive sometime after 10 AM. Two poles were reported broken and a third damaged.
A car reportedly swerved to avoid the incident and went into the woods. Three people were evaluated at the scene but no serious injuries were reported.
Slough Road is closed between Derby Lane and the Harwich town line. The closure is likely to last for several hours. Areas south of Pine View Road can be accessed from the Harwich end of Slough Road and areas north of Pine View Road can be accessed via the Airline Road end.
Brewster Police are investigating the crash. Eversource’s outage map is showing 221 customers in Brewster and 27 in Harwich without power.
