Traffic alert: Vehicle fire stalls traffic on Route 6 in Sandwich

SANDWICH – A fully involved vehicle fire shut down traffic on Route 6 eastbound in Sandwich. The call came in  about 6:45 PM eastbound between exits 1C and 2. All eastbound traffic was detoured at exit 1C. Westbound traffic was heavily backed up as well. No injuries were reported.

State Police reported that traffic was flowing again on both directions as of 7:30 PM.
