Traffic stop leads to drug and warrant arrests in Yarmouth

YARMOUTHFrom Yarmouth Police: On Thursday, November 7, 2019, at 1:45 PM, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit K9 Officer Nick Ambrosini and his partner Jeff Rivett stopped a 2010 Honda Accord for a traffic violation on Route 28 in West Yarmouth near Town Brook Road.

Three people were inside the vehicle and Police Officers observed large amounts of monies folded up into separate stacks in a wallet on the seat and two empty sandwich bags on the floor.

• A record check showed a passenger had multiple convictions for possession of illegal drugs as well as possession of illegal drugs with intent to distribute.
• The driver was found to have two active arrest warrants.
• Another passenger initially lied and gave a false name to an Officer. A computer check found her to have an active probation warrant for illegal drug possession.

Yarmouth Police Drug Enforcement K9 Gauge was deployed and indicated drugs hidden on the passenger with the prior drug convictions. A subsequent check of the person found two clear bags containing crack cocaine.

All three person were placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.

Matthew Normand Borden, 41, of Hyannis was charged with Warrant arrest (2 counts). Desiree Maria Littleton, 46, of Harwich was charged with Warrant arrest. Rhonda Fay Blake, 34, of Hyannis was charged with possession of a Class B substance (cocaine)(subsequent offense), and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (cocaine)(subsequent offense).

Upon further examination of the money, it contained 10 separate folded stacks totaling $897.00. The folded stacks were in stacks of $100.00 in mostly $20 denominations.

Upon further examination of the bags containing the rock like substance, the bigger bag had an approximate gross weight of 8.7 grams. The smaller bag contained 2 smaller bags and had an approximate gross weight of 2.2 grams. All tested positive for cocaine.

All subjects were scheduled for arraignment Friday in the Barnstable District Court.
