Train car catches fire at Joint Base Cape Cod

JOINT BASE CAPE COD – Fire broke out on a railroad car at Joint Base Cape Cod sometime before 1 PM. The train was near the transfer station on the base. No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

From Joint Base Cape Cod Firefighters: On Wednesday, B-shift responded to a fire that had broken out on a train car at the regional transfer station on base. The fire was quickly brought under control however required several more hours of overhaul to ensure it would not re-kindle. Thanks to Sandwich Firefighters for providing station coverage.
