Transformer fire knockes out power in Centerville

CENTERVILLE – A transformer fire Wednesday afternoon knocked out power to about 250 Eversource customers in Centerville on one of the hottest days of the year. The transformer continued to burn on Great Marsh Road until Eversource could cut the power. Once the fire was out crews worked to replaced the transformer. High demand may have been a factor in the fire.
