FALMOUTH – Falmouth Police held a tree dedication ceremony in honor of fallen Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputy John Robert Kotfila. This living monument will be a fitting tribute to the memory of a true hero. Many thanks to Dale Tree Movers & Tree Farm for donating the tree, and to Clover Co., Inc. for donating the monument plaque. Your generosity will help serve as a reminder to us all what a remarkable young man Deputy Kotfila was. Kotfila was killed when he drove in front of another motorist to protect them from a wrong way driver on a Tampa, FL area highway earlier this year. Kotfila’s father is a sergeant with the Massachusetts State Police at Bourne and his brother is a Falmouth Police officer.
