Truro Police seeking candidates for vacant officer job

TRURO – The Town of Truro is seeking candidates to fill a vacant police officer’s position.
 
Individuals seeking employment as a police officer with the Truro Police Department must possess a high school diploma or GED, be of sound moral character, pass a medical and psychological examination, a physical agility test and must undergo a complete background check.
 
Additionally, candidates will undergo a series of oral interviews. Graduates from a full-time Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee Police Academy is favored, but not required.
 
The police department has an authorized strength of fourteen (14) full-time sworn officers, 4 (4) permanent Telecommunicators, and one (1) full-time Administrative Assistant. The department has one Detective, a motor unit and a Drug/Search and Rescue K9 and a Community Outreach unit, and provides opportunities for career enhancement through selected training courses.
 
Applications, which are due by December 31, 2016, may be picked up at the Truro Police Department, 344 Route 6, or at www.truropolice.org.
