WAREHAM – From Wareham Police: On Tuesday, September 11, at about 10:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifting incident in progress. Upon arrival of Officers Blaise Lalli and Joseph Cardoza, they encountered Heather Murphy, 25, of no certain address and Jason Willoughby, 33, of Wareham, leaving the store. When confronted Ms. Murphy opened a handbag and began handing back clothes that she attempted to steal. She advised the officers that the clothes were needed for a court appearance on Wednesday. Officer Cardoza found Mr. Willoughby to have shoes stuffed in his pants at the waistline and other stolen items were located in their car. The couple was placed under arrest, pending an appearance in Wareham District Court on Wednesday. Mr. Willoughby is being charged with, shoplifting, third offense, and Ms. Murphy is charged with shoplifting.
