Two arrested for heroin trafficking in Dennis Port

DENNIS – The Dennis Police Department reports that on Thursday evening, members of the Dennis Police Detective Unit conducted surveillance operations throughout the town as part of a grant-funded initiative to combat recent increases in heroin overdoses and drug related crimes.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., detectives observed a hand-to-hand drug transaction take place in the parking lot of a local business in Dennis Port. The subjects participating in the drug transaction were known to detectives as being involved in the local drug trade.

Detectives detained and searched several individuals and arrested 25-year-old Kristen Asack, 25, and Jeffrey Britt, 25, both of Dennisport.

Asack was found to be in possession of 28 grams of heroin and numerous prescription drugs, as well as a large amount of US currency. Asack is charged with Trafficking in Heroin, Distribution of a Class (C) Drug, Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws and possession of several other classes of prescription drugs.

Britt was found to be in Possession of a Class (C) Drug and was also charged with Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws.

Both were taken to the Dennis Police Department where they were booked and processed. Asack was held without bail for an outstanding court matter and Britt was released on his own recognizance for arraignment at Orleans District Court.
