Two busted for heroin in Yarmouth

– The Yarmouth Police Department reports that on Monday at 5:42 p.m., Yarmouth Police detectives Scott Lundegren and Mike Wells observed a red GMC truck parked in a secluded area of the cranberry bogs at the intersection of White Rock Road and Union Street in Yarmouthport.

Detectives and backup patrol officers located two subjects inside the vehicle in the act of using heroin. The two men were subsequently placed under arrest, and officers seized the drugs and the vehicle.

Both subjects, Gideon P. Straughn, 36, of Brewster (left), and Christopher Alan Dunham, 33, of Yarmouth (right), were booked at Yarmouth Police Department headquarters. They are scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court on Tuesday.

Straughn is charged with possession to distribute Class A heroin (subsequent offense) and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Dunham is charged with felony possess to distribute Class A heroin and felony conspiracy to violate drug laws
