Two face armed robbery charges after apparent drug deal gone bad in Eastham

EASTHAM
– Eastham Police report that on Monday at approximately 6:35 PM, they received a report of an armed robbery that had occurred at a Cooks Brook Road residence in Eastham. The incident reportedly involved an illegal narcotics transaction within a vehicle in the driveway of that home and resulted in one individual showing a firearm before exiting the vehicle with a small amount of marijuana. After a short investigation, Eastham Police Department obtained a search warrant for the Cooks Brook Road residence as well as an arrest warrant for Max Agger, 26, of Eastham on the charges of armed robbery and intimidation of a witness. The Cape Cod Regional Tactical Team was requested to assist with serving the warrants due to the likelihood of the presence of a firearm within the residence. At approximately midnight, both warrants were served with Max Agger being placed under arrest. Several other individuals were removed from the residence including Tyler Lawton, 22, of South Dennis. After further follow-up investigation Lawton was also placed under arrest on charges including armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Through the investigation, a black semi-automatic pellet gun was recovered along with what is believed to be the marijuana taken from the victim in the driveway.

This was a prearranged encounter between all parties involved for an illegal drug transaction. This crime was not a random act of violence and it is not believed that any residents in the area were ever in danger.

Both Agger and Lawton were booked at the Eastham Police Department and held overnight without bail. Both were arraigned at the Orleans District Court Tuesday morning where they were both held on $5,000 bail pending a pretrial hearing on September 15th.
