Two face charged after stolen MV from NY, missing juvenile found in Wareham

WAREHAMFrom Wareham Police: On Friday, November 8, the Wareham Police evening shift was alerted by Communications Officer Nicolle Amaral about a stolen motor vehicle from the state of New York, possibly headed to the Wareham area. This vehicle was alleged to have a missing juvenile female in it, as well as multiple firearms.

At 8:24 p.m. Wareham Police received specific information that the vehicle in question was in Wareham Lake Shores. Sergeant Kevin Reilly, Officers Charles Pillsbury, John Iacobucci, and Eric Machado all responded.

Officer Machado, while responding spotted the the vehicle on Glen Charlie Road, pulled it over and arrested the sole occupant, Tyler Rakoski, 19, of East Wareham. Two rifles and two shot guns, stolen from New York were secured and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

The other officers went to check an address in Wareham Lake Shores after receiving information that the missing juvenile could be located there. When they arrived, Officer Pillsbury and Sergeant Reilly went to the rear of the house while Officer Iacobucci and a detective went to the front door. As they knocked, a male attempted to climb out of a rear window but was quickly placed in custody. Shawn Ely, 18, of East Wareham, was arrested because of an active warrant. The missing juvenile was also found in the house unharmed. She was brought to the police station and arrangements were made to reunite her with family.

Tyler Rakoski is charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, four counts of possession of a firearm without a permit, and four counts of receiving stolen property. The case remains an active investigation with New York officials.
