COTUIT – Cotuit Rescue responded to the area of 4220 Falmouth Road (Route 28) just before 10 AM Thursday morning for a motor vehicle crahs. A mashpee Engine was requested for a report of a trapped person on dispatch. On arrival crews found a Honda Elantra had rear ended a Toyota Highlander with severe damage to the Honda front end. The door on the Honda was opened by Cotuit Crews before the Mashpee Engine arrived. Two persons were transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-treating injuries. Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills ambulance assisted with one of the transports. Barnstable Police are investigating the crash. Traffic on Route 28 was backed up until the scene was cleared.
