HARWICH – Shortly after 2:30 PM Thursday, Harwich Police and Fire-Rescue were dispatched to a 2 car MVC with air bag deployment on Route 137 at Cemetery Road. A Honda Pilot SUV and a Ford Ranger pickup truck had collided at the intersection with the driver and passenger of the SUV complaining of injuries that appeared to be not life-threatening. Because all Harwich Ambulances were busy, a Chatham Fire Ambulance was dispatched on mutual aid. The Chatham ambulance transported one person from the SUV while a Harwich ambulance that was just returning from CCH was dispatched to the scene and transported the other occupant from the SUV. The driver of the pickup truck was evaluated by Medics and refused treatment. Traffic was detoured around the scene by Harwich and Chatham Police until the vehicle could be towed and the intersection cleared. The accident is under the investigation of the Harwich Police.
