YARMOUTH
– Yarmouth Police report that several months ago a large amount of graffiti was located behind the Town of Yarmouth Transfer Station in South Yarmouth.  The graffiti was on the waste treatment facility. Some of the graffiti involved a tag of “3C” as well as lewd comments towards the police such as ‘F_ _ k the Police.”  We have removed the full spelling of the “F” word for this media release.  Photographs of the graffiti were taken and documented and an investigation ensued, primarily by Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officer Sean Geary.

On September 2, Patrol Officer Geary went to the Town of Yarmouth Water Pump Station on North Main Street for the report of more graffiti.  It appeared that the graffiti at this location was similar in nature.  There were more initials “TKM” “CAP” “ARF” “MHB” “MFF” “CRH” along with another “3C” “CodTown” and a tag that read “F THE LAW”.  Along with this graffiti at this location there was a large “RIP JOB” that appeared to be unrelated.  The “RIP JOB” was in black spray paint rather than white and appeared to be different hand writing.  Two cans of spray paint were located at this location and were sent to the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit for processing with negative results.

On both the Water Pump Station and the Waste Water Treatment Facility the areas are clearly marked with signs that say “No Trespassing.”  Furthermore both of these areas are fenced off.  Access was made either over, under, or through gaps in the fence with clear disregard for the No Trespassing signs.

Additional information was developed with assistance from the Dennis Police Department, which indicated these tags were in remembrance of local young people that have died untimely deaths.

Through the use of several Social Media outlets, Patrol Officer Geary developed several suspects who were close friends with the deceased and posted the same exact tags on their pages. Some of the photos showed the suspect with the young person prior to their deaths.

Here is the list of Town of Yarmouth, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and privately owned properties that have been vandalized:
