Two men charged with heroin distribution after overdose death in Yarmouth

(l-r) Miles H. Taylor, Todd H. Brown

YARMOUTH – From Yarmouth Police: On March 6, 2019, at 1 PM, Yarmouth Police Officers were dispatched to an apartment on Alewife Circle in Swan Pond Village for a report of an unattended death of a 53 year old resident.

There were obvious signs of illegal drug use—uncapped needle, a spoon with residue, a cotton ball, and Narcan—found at the crime scene.

An extensive investigation spearheaded by Yarmouth Police Detective Eric Nuss, with support from Yarmouth Police Department Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officer Nick Ambrosini, members of the Massachusetts State Police, and the Brewster and Chatham Police Departments, led to the identity of the men who provided the illegal drugs to the victim.

The Yarmouth Police Department obtained arrest warrants and both men have been tracked down and charged with distributing a Class A substance (heroin), and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.

Miles Taylor was arraigned in the Barnstable District Court on Friday and released on $2,500 cash bail and is currently back in the community awaiting his next court date.

Todd Brown was arrested yesterday—held overnight at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters on $5,000 cash bail—and is being arraigned in the Barnstable District Court Tuesday.
