Two-month investigation leads to heroin bust in Brewster

BREWSTER – The Brewster Police Department reports that on Tuesday night at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers from the Department arrested Dean Viprino, 43, of Brewster. The arrest was the culmination of a two-month investigation into heroin dealing in the Mid-Cape area. Members of the Cape Cod Drug Task Force and Yarmouth Police detectives assisted Brewster detectives.

When police stopped Viprino, he initially tried to evade them but eventually was stopped near his residence. Sandwich K-9 Koda assisted at the scene and located a bag of heroin (over 10 grams) that was attributed to Viprino. A subsequent search of his residence resulted in the discovery of Suboxone and Hydromorphone.

Viprino was charged with Possession of Class A Substance w/Intent to Distribute, Subsequent Offense (Heroin); Possession of Class B Substance, Subsequent Offense (Suboxone); Possession of Class B Substance, Subsequent Offense (Hydromorphone); Failure to Stop for Police; and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle

He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in Orleans District Court.
